We opened the first LGBTQ Center in Greensboro in 2018 to provide resources, programs, and support for LGBTQ People. We quickly outgrew our original location in midtown, and in January 2020, we moved to our current location at 121 N. Greene Street in the heart Downtown Greensboro.
Dedicated volunteers and staff provide resources and programs on a broad range of topics, such as healthcare, knowing your legal rights and self-advocacy, aging, financial planning, or transgender issues.
The Center is 2,000 square feet and consists of a lounge (with free water! and coffee!), a large meeting space that seats 50, two smaller meeting spaces, a resource library, and more. The Center offers a transgender clothing closet, where trans folks can find a piece of gender-affirming clothing at no cost, as well as a queer library where you can check out an LGBTQ-themed book or movie.
