The Guilford Green Foundation grows and maintains its connections to the community in several ways, but a big one is hosting a variety of events with wide appeal. We put on several major fundraisers throughout the year to support the organization and its Grant Program, but we also host several purely social events. Join our email list and follow us Facebook for the latest event information.
Sessions: a Faith Discussion Group

Sessions – A Faith Discussion Group
Religion can be one of those taboo subjects that often creates turmoil…and yes….we are going there. For many LGBTQ persons, faith and religion are at odds with each other. So many of us have grown up in denominational faiths, only to find out, as our bodies and minds matured, the place we sought sanctuary and comfort, the place where we were told of God’s love…did not offer any of that to us as LGBTQ.
In our inaugural meeting let’s get to know each other, lay some ground rules, and share some stories. We are starting this group as one possible path back to faith, restoration, reconciliation, and healing. While the facilitators of this group identify with the teachings of Jesus, we welcome anyone seeking to connect with God.
This group will welcome and respect all people. We will understand that we may not believe and think the same way, however, we will not allow that to divide us. Instead, we will choose to celebrate the diversity of humankind, knowing that we are all God’s beautiful handiwork just as we are. We will check our pretense of perfection at the door and participate honestly and authentically.
No two weeks will be the same. We may listen to Ted Talks, read scripture, pray, sing or even dance…what we do know is that you will not be bored and you will know you are loved and accepted.
Please come learn of God’s love with us and join in the discussion. Dress comfortably and casually and feel free to bring your favorite morning beverage. We will start gathering after 9:30 am and plan on getting started around 10 am.
