The Guilford Green Foundation grows and maintains its connections to the community in several ways, but a big one is hosting a variety of events with wide appeal. We put on several major fundraisers throughout the year to support the organization and its Grant Program, but we also host several purely social events. Join our email list and follow us Facebook for the latest event information.

Enjoy a glass of wine while exploring your creative side! Join CAN-NC and be inspired by Betty Parsons, best known for her early promotion of Abstract Expressionism. A talented artist, dealer and collector, Betty Parsons took chances and exhibited the work of artists that she believed should be seen, not just for commercial value. At a time when the market for avant-garde American art was minuscule, Parsons was the only dealer willing to represent artists like Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko. In the 1960’s she had several museum and university exhibitions. In 1968, she was exhibited at London’s Whitechapel Gallery and became an international artist. Her private art collection of 300 works has traveled around America. Gay & Gray is a program of the Guilford Green Foundation & LGBTQ Center targeted towards LGBTQ folks aged 50+.
CAN-NC Executive Director Lia Miller has been painting since the age of 10 and enjoys teaching as often as possible!
