2017 has been a big year for Guilford Green Foundation, first because it was GGF’s 20th anniversary! We celebrated in September by having a Founders Dinner, with special guest Cleve Jones, to honor the visionary men and woman who created GGF 20 years ago.
This Year’s Grantees:
Because of your support, this year Guilford Green Foundation was able to award impact grants to three organizations in our community whose work is beneficial to the LGBTQ community:
- Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro — for LGBTQ-focused workshops on advance care issues, including end-of-life care wishes and how to complete advance care directive documents (such as living wills and a health care power of attorney);
- NCCJ of the Piedmont Triad — for their week-long summer program for youth, ANYTOWN, where Guilford County students have the chance to interact with a diverse group of their peers that come together to build community based on inclusivity, respect, and understanding;
- Planned Parenthood South Atlantic — to provide staff training to improve the healthcare of transgender individuals, and to expand the services offered at their Greensboro health center to include hormone therapy (with no letter from a psychologist needed to access their transitions services).
We hope you will consider giving to GGF as you think about your year-end giving. At a time when there’s so much division in our country, we are working to unite our community. We can’t do it without you. Please remember that 2017 year-end donations by check need to be postmarked, or credit cards processed, by December 31st.
We are so grateful for your support this year, and for the last 20 years. We know 2018 will be even better.
